What I liked
I enjoyed working with kids in a sports setting. The kids made each day worthwhile. This job was a great stepping stone to my future career in the Physical Education setting.
What I wish was different
I wish there had been more equipment and managerial support. Our supervisors would acknowledge problems and it felt as if they did little to fix them. Or they would tell us to fix them (i.e behavioral problems, structural problems) but we were not given support to do so. Lack of equipment led to high wait times for games and this high wait time lead to behavior problems with the campers.
Advice
Take it one day at at time, some days you might feel like exploding and going crazy but remember that the kids look up to you for guidance and support, especially when times are tough.
