I appreciated the community and hands-on experience I gained throughout the internship. Instead of training for weeks I trained for a small amount of time then jumped on the team. I learned as I went and by the end was able to be a great help to the commissioning team. I worked closely with three different people on the team and learned about shematic checks, troubleshooting, testing, OAC meetings and site visits to many renovation projects. My favorite part was definitely having hands-on experiece helping contractors and owners complete a project that both could be prowd of.
What I wish was different
The only thing I had wished was different was the time frame. Unfortunately school cut it short and I was jsut dipping my toes into all the capabillities that commissioning had.
Advice
Willingness to work hard and learn is more valuable than your previous knowledge. I didn't have much of my own knowledge to contribute but after working hard and digging in I was able to learn quickly and help the team as much as possible.
