Growth & Operations Associate

Growth & Operations Associate

Full-time | Needham, MA | $80,000–$100,000 Annually

About the Role

We are hiring a Growth & Operations Associate to work directly with a senior leader at Suzhou-Chem, a fast-growing player in the international chemical distribution industry. This is a high-impact, high-visibility position designed for an exceptional early-career candidate who wants to accelerate their learning curve across core business functions, including sales, supply chain, finance, and compliance.

This is not a traditional entry-level role. You’ll be expected to think critically, take ownership of complex projects, and deliver results from day one. In return, you’ll receive direct mentorship and exposure to real decision-making at a global scale.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Operations

  • Manage client accounts, support sales communication, and prepare detailed pricing proposals.
  • Conduct market research and supplier sourcing to support business development efforts.
  • Coordinate product logistics across global suppliers, freight partners, and U.S. warehouses.
  • Attend 4–5 U.S.-based trade shows annually to support lead generation and relationship-building.

Data, Systems & Process Improvement

  • Analyze operational and financial data from internal systems (e.g., CRM, accounting) to generate reports and business insights.
  • Ensure data integrity across systems like Freshsales (CRM) and Jira.
  • Document workflows, build automations, and implement process improvements across departments.

Strategic & Administrative Support

  • Support regulatory filings and maintain accurate documentation for compliance with U.S. agencies (FDA, CBP, etc.).
  • Assist with financial reporting and treasury-related data collection.
  • Take on special projects that require analytical rigor, discretion, and adaptability.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong academic background (3.75+ GPA preferred) and a demonstrated history of managing demanding responsibilities.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive — someone who takes ownership and delivers consistently.
  • Proficient in Excel (formulas, pivots, modeling) and familiar with Tableau or similar tools.
  • Comfortable using AI tools for business applications; familiarity with LLMs and modern prompt engineering is a plus.
Bonus: experience with SQL, Python, Freshsales, Jira, or prior internships in business, ops, or finance.

Benefits

  • 401(k) Plan
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off

Why This Role?

  • Mentorship: Work directly with a senior executive on high-priority projects.
  • Exposure: Gain cross-functional experience and the chance to build a rare, versatile skill set early in your career.
  • Impact: Your work will directly support core business functions and growth.
