MEDICAL SCRIBE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical/Surgical Office Scribe to join our busy surgical practice at Precision Urology in Phoenix. As a scribe, you will work closely with physicians and medical staff to document patient encounters, streamline clinical workflows, and enhance patient care delivery. This role is ideal for pre-medical, pre-nursing, or healthcare-focused students looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced medical environment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately document patient histories, physical exams, procedures, and treatment plans in real-time during patient visits.
• Assist physicians by entering orders, prescriptions, and referrals into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
• Prepare and organize patient charts for upcoming appointments.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure efficient patient flow and accurate medical records.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Perform administrative tasks as needed, such as scheduling follow-ups or coordinating with other departments.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate program (preferred majors: Biology, Pre-Med, Nursing, or related fields).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers and ability to learn EHR systems quickly.
• Prior experience in healthcare settings (e.g., volunteering, shadowing, or internships) is a plus but not required.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and composure under pressure.
• Availability to work [specify hours, e.g., 15-20 hours per week, including some evenings or weekends].

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with medical terminology or willingness to learn.
• Typing speed of at least 50 WPM.
• Experience with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) is a plus.
