Preschool Assistant Teacher

Part-Time (15 hours per week) for the 2025-2026 school year $17-19 per hour | Monday, Wednesday, Friday

We are seeking a motivated professional that is passionate about early education to join our preschool as a Preschool Assistant Teacher. In this position, you assist the lead teacher with activities and learning exercises and help them maintain a friendly, inclusive, safe atmosphere for all students. Depending on needs and activity, you may take small groups of students aside for separate activities. You also help maintain student records of behavior and progress to help keep parents up-to-date on their child's development and learning. You supervise children during free play both indoors and outside.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist lead teacher with activities and instruction
  • Help maintain records of student progress and needs
  • Help keep learning areas tidy and sate
  • Provide a welcoming, inclusive learning atmosphere for all students
  • Support children with special or individual needs
  • Assist during snack time and student restroom breaks
  • Accompany class during nature walks and field trips
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience working with preschool age children in an educational environment
  • A passion for early childhood education and helping children grow in positive ways
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexible, patient, great sense of humor
