Research Assistant
The Massachusetts Export Center (www.mass.gov/export) is seeking interns to assist with high-level client research. Because of our small staff, interns have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects which they would not necessarily have exposure to in a larger organization. Client projects may include regulatory research, multi-country and industry analyses, distributor searches, and more. Interns’ special capabilities and interests, such as course of study, foreign language skills and computer skills will be taken into consideration when assigning projects.
Early in the internship, students will sit for a presentation providing an overview of international trade, examples of research projects and the Massachusetts Export Center's services. Additionally, students will participate in weekly intern meetings to discuss research projects and discuss international trade regulations and policy affecting Massachusetts businesses. Additional educational opportunities include participating in Export Center training programs and other events.
Prospective interns will have excellent written and verbal skills in English; attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to work independently as well as part of a team; strong computer skills; and a high degree of reliability and dependability. Education/background in international business is preferred, but not required.
Interns will be working mostly remotely with some potential office time if desired. We ask for a minimum of 16 hours/week.
