Role Overview
The Musicians Club is launching an Arts Management Internship Program with 20 dedicated individuals to help establish and grow a new arts management division. Interns will play a key role in supporting artists across disciplines—music, visual arts, performance, and more—by providing essential services in talent representation, booking, marketing, brand development, and merchandising. This internship offers hands-on experience in building an arts management platform from the ground up and is ideal for ambitious individuals ready to dive into the arts industry.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Representation and Career Development:
- Assist in developing career plans for artists, helping them set goals and create portfolios.
- Support the setup and management of artist profiles, including bios, portfolios, and schedules, making artists visible to potential collaborators and clients.
- Participate in creating mentorship programs that connect experienced professionals with emerging talent.
Booking and Event Management:
- Contribute to designing and implementing a booking platform, managing artist schedules, and coordinating with venues and event organizers.
- Assist artists in managing their availability, ensuring smooth scheduling and communication.
- Collaborate with venues, galleries, and festivals to create new performance and exhibition opportunities.
Marketing, Branding, and Promotion:
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns to promote artists and events, working with the social media team to increase artist visibility.
- Support artists in creating branding materials, social media content, and engaging promotions to reach wider audiences.
- Coordinate online artist showcases, virtual exhibits, and events to spotlight talent and attract clients.
Merchandising and Revenue Expansion:
- Help artists design and launch merchandise, such as art prints, music, and branded items, creating additional revenue streams.
- Work with the e-commerce team to ensure all artist merchandise is listed, organized, and promoted on the platform.
- Assist in managing digital downloads, live-streaming ticket sales, and other revenue-generating tools for artists.
Financial and Legal Resources:
- Assist in creating and distributing resources for artists on financial management, royalties, and budgeting.
- Support artists in understanding best practices for contracts, pricing, and protecting their intellectual property.
- Help build a resource portal with downloadable guides and access to financial and legal advisors for artists.
Team Structure and Focus Areas
Each intern will be assigned to one of the following teams based on strengths and interests:
- Talent Representation Team: Focus on artist profiles, career planning, and portfolio development.
- Booking and Event Coordination Team: Manage artist schedules, bookings, and outreach to event organizers.
- Marketing and Branding Team: Design promotional campaigns, branding materials, and online artist showcases.
- Merchandising and E-commerce Team: Set up and manage artist merchandise, digital sales, and live streaming.
- Financial and Legal Resource Team: Provide guidance on financial planning, contracts, and intellectual property.
Requirements
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with a passion for supporting artists and creatives.
- Familiarity with marketing and social media tools; experience in graphic design or e-commerce is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, remote environment.
