Community Relations Specialist

The Center for Societal Aspiration (CSACO) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Dallas, Texas. Founded in 2023, we are a startup organization dedicated to cultivating prosperous individuals and societies. Currently, we are focusing on serving people experiencing addiction, homelessness, and poverty through our system that integrates comprehensive human health development, structural community development, and (soon) artificial intelligence to develop and maintain the essential elements of your health.

Role Description

This is a volunteer Fundraising Specialist internship at the Center for Societal Aspiration. This internship will take 8 hours per week and will start in early January 2024. As part of the internship, all interns will receive professional development education in their respective fields. The President and CEO will oversee and mentor interns directly through weekly virtual one-on-one meetings. Additionally, we will hold virtual bi-weekly staff meetings.

  • Assist in planning and executing fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Research potential donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities.
  • Assist in grant writing and proposal development.
  • Help maintain donor records and databases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with donor information.
  • Support donor stewardship efforts, including sending thank-you letters and acknowledgments.
  • Contribute to the creation of fundraising materials, such as brochures and newsletters.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement fundraising strategies.
  • Provide general administrative support to the development department.
  • Start a GoFundMe

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program or have a background in nonprofit management, fundraising, communications, or a related field.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor management software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A passion for nonprofit work and a commitment to our organization's mission.
