Social Media Associate

DESCRIPTION: The mission of the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism (FCAS) is to win the hearts and minds of non-Jews and Jews through powerful positive messaging and partnerships, motivating and equipping them to be defenders of and upstanders for Jews. FCAS focuses on spreading the Blue Square and associated programs to spur action by people of all backgrounds. Working with a network of partners, FCAS leverages unique monitoring technology to drive effective rapid response to Jewish hate and all hate, in addition to proactive programs that galvanize popular support for the Jewish community.

 

SUMMARY:  The Social Media Associate will help execute content strategy of FCAS’s social media channels. The Social Media Associate will interface across the marketing department and with external agencies to assist as needed in helping create, post, and promote our content to reach viewers on all platforms. In particular, this role will be instrumental in supporting the execution of FCAS’s social media strategy to reach a Gen Z audience.

The ideal candidate will have deep understanding of the social landscape, facility in platforms used by FCAS, highly attentive to detail and possess superlative communication and organizational skills.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the creation and posting of daily, dynamic, high-quality social content to core platforms including X, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok
  • Partner with design and content team members to create best in class content by audience/by channel.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on the social landscape:  actively monitor and report on news, trends, information, creators relevant to the FCAS mission
  • Actively contribute to community management of FCAS channels
  • Own measurement and reporting across channels – prepare and present reports for FCAS team and executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with FCAS team members to produce engaging content for digital channels.
  • Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
  • Responsible for the maintenance, creation and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPAA.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, or related discipline
  • 1-3 plus years’ experience in brand marketing, social or digital media or equivalent
  • Technical expertise operating and managing major social media accounts, including on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube platforms required. Strong experience operating on TikTok, as well as trending or emerging social platforms preferred.
  • Strong understanding of social media landscape, particularly among millennial and Gen Z users, and demonstrated ability to adapt storytelling accordingly.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • A passion for social media, and online advocacy and communications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively coordinate content across multiple platforms and deadlines.
  • Creative, highly organized, with the ability to prioritize, and work well against tight delivery timeframes.
  • Must have attention to detail and focused concentration.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and responsiveness.
  • Must be able to make timely decisions in the context of the workflow.
  • Must be able to adhere to process protocol and must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner.
