** You will serve as a Cost Engineer with Planning, Design, and Construction, Public Works Directorate, Naval Facilities Engineering Command - Mid-Atlantic, Great Lakes, IL. **

RRESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct analysis of designs, drawings, proposals, scopes of work, and/or specifications to determine cost projections;
  • Develop comprehensive budget cost estimates for complex construction assemblies and building systems composites for all facility project types;
  • Participates in design charette workshops as the lead estimator;
  • Develops comparative cost/constructability/availability analyses for alternative design scenarios;
  • Evaluates and advises on contractor cost proposals;
  • Coordinates complex construction cost estimates;
  • Develops cost estimates from a variety of sources and software products;
  • Interacts with In-house and A/E designers, material suppliers, fabricators, and contractors while communicating both orally and in writing;

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

1. Preparing detailed cost estimates for engineering/architectural projects;

2. Reviewing cost estimates prepared by Architect & Engineering (A-E) firms that consist of construction requirements; and

3. Using theories, principles, and methodology to conduct studies and analysis of requirements for cost, labor, and materials.
