Chess Instructor (Summer Camp)
Are you passionate about chess and inspiring young minds? Xtatic, a leader in innovative education, is looking for a dedicated Chess Instructor to join us for our summer camp sessions in San Jose, California. In this role, you'll guide students through the world of chess, fostering critical thinking, strategy, and a love for the game.
Location: San Jose, California.
Duration: 1 week sessions, 3 hours/day.
- July 1-5, 2024
- July 29 - Aug 2, 2024
Rate: $40-$50/hour
Position Type: Independent Contractor.
Background Check is Required (covered by Xtatic).
Responsibilities:
- Lead students aged 8-12 in chess lessons and strategy development.
- Implement Xtatic's cohesive curriculum during summer camp sessions.
- Engage students in hands-on chess matches and strategic exercises.
- Ensure students follow the curriculum for a comprehensive learning experience.
- Organize friendly chess tournaments to enhance skill development.
- Encourage a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
- Provide assistance and guidance in understanding chess concepts and techniques.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere for learning.
Requirements:
- Background in chess and teaching chess to children.
- Experience working with children aged 8-12.
- Ability to follow and implement a structured curriculum.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enthusiasm for fostering critical thinking and strategy development in students.
