Clinical Sciences Intern

Protara’s portfolio includes its lead program, TARA-002, an investigational cell-based therapy being developed for the treatment of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) and lymphatic malformations, and IV Choline Chloride, an investigational phospholipid substrate replacement therapy as a source of choline in patients on long term parenteral nutrition.

 

Job Overview:
The Clinical Science Intern will be part of Protara’s Clinical Sciences team and will contribute to the scientific and clinical aspects of Protara’s ongoing development programs. To qualify for this position, the candidate should have a science background, be interested in life sciences, and have a desire to understand basic medical research and clinical trial concepts. The intern will receive unique exposure to Protara’s cell therapy and drug development in support of our Lymphatic Malformations, IV Choline Chloride and NMIBC programs.
 

The goal for the Clinical Sciences Intern is to gain exposure to clinical and scientific projects related to drug development within the biotechnology industry and support Protara’s scientific strategies to advance the development of therapies for people with cancer and rare diseases.


*The timeframe of the summer internship is from May/June – August.
*This internship is 40 hours a week.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):
• Contribute to development of scientific messaging grids for Protara’s development programs
• Perform literature reviews on key scientific topics related to Protara’s programs
• Contribute to development of scientific slides and material to support Protara’s programs
• Contribute to the development of Protara’s clinical study protocol toolkit
• Contribute to development/update of clinical sciences trackers
• Contribute to scientific communication planning for Protara’s development programs
 

All responsibilities will be based on the candidate’s experience level and will be performed with guidance from and in collaboration with other members of the Clinical Sciences and R&D team.
 

Education:
• Pursuing or have an undergraduate (BS) or graduate (MS, MPH, PhD, PharmD) degree in a science discipline
 

Qualifications:
• Strong interest in learning about scientific communications, clinical research and drug development
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skill
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Enthusiastic, Self-motivated, and quick learner
• Detail oriented and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
