Objectives of This Role:

As a Lead Sport Counselor, your primary objective is to oversee one of the sport programs and ensure the delivery of high-quality coaching and instruction. You'll lead soccer

sessions, develop lesson plans, and mentor junior counselors to create a positive and impactful experience for all participants.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement engaging activities, drills, and games that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Lead the specific  sport sessions for children of varying ages and skill levels, providing instruction, feedback, and encouragement to help them improve their soccer skills.
• Supervise junior counselors and volunteers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the smooth operation of the sport program.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, enforcing rules and safety guidelines during sport sessions.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff members to provide updates on program activities, participant progress, and upcoming events.
• Assist in the setup, organization, and cleanup of sports  equipment and facilities before and after sessions.
• Act as a positive role model for participants, demonstrating good sportsmanship, respect, and enthusiasm for the game of soccer.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience playing the sport at a competitive level, with coaching or teaching experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of soccer techniques, strategies, and rules, with the ability to effectively teach and communicate these concepts to children.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire children to achieve their goals.
• CPR and first aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when necessary.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Coaching certification or accreditation from a recognized soccer organization.
• Previous experience working with children in a camp, school, or recreational setting.
• Passion for soccer and a genuine desire to share the joy of the sport with others.
