Reports to: Team I Engagement Assistant
Location: Boston, MA or Chicago, IL (hybrid and remote available)
Internship duration: May 2024 - August 2024
Status: Part Time (10-20 hours per week)
Pay: $17 per hour
The Position
J Street is seeking an undergraduate student, graduate student, or recent graduate as an Intern in our Boston/Chicago office during Summer 2024. This internship is an excellent opportunity to better understand and get involved in J Street’s work.
This is an exciting opportunity to learn about advocacy work with Members of Congress, outreach, research and data management skills as well as to deepen one’s knowledge of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This position is ideal for applicants interested in non-profit work, or political advocacy.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Assisting with outreach, and logistics for advocacy events
- Working with Congressional offices to schedule meetings
- Updating and managing supporter databases
- Researching potential new donors and supporters
- Making phone calls / writing emails to supporters
- Writing acknowledgments, follow-up letters, and other business communications
- Assisting with various additional tasks and projects as needed to support the team's goals
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Careful attention to detail
- Alignment with J Street’s mission and values
- Comfortable making phone calls and engaging with external organizations or supporters
- Proficiency with Google Suite Applications and Microsoft Excel; experience with database management is a plus

Compensation and Time Commitment
This part-time internship pays $17/hr. Interns can expect to work 10-20 hours per week.
