Manufacturing Quality Engineer Associate

SUMMARY:

This Associate opportunity is in the field of Quality Assurance. This is a 2-year rotational program where you will move from one function to another, as well as potentially move to other company locations in the US every 6-12 months. The goal is for the Associate to transition into a specific role at one location at the end of the 2 years based on the experience and skill set the individual has developed over the course of the program.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a quality associate/coordinator/engineer to monitor and improve the quality of our operational processes and outputs. Responsibilities of this position includes managing quality standards/procedures/work instructions, conducting a variety of tests, performing statistical analysis, evaluating processes, developing quality control standards and assisting with corrective actions. You may also work with various managers in the organization in a cross-functional environment to implement various quality metrics and determine best practices.

The successful candidate should possess excellent troubleshooting, analytical and communication skills and be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards.

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, revise, implement and maintain quality standards including procedures, work instructions, process flows and diagrams.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance using a variety of statistical methods.
  • Compile, maintain and publish key performance metrics.
  • Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
  • Collaborate with operations managers to develop and implement controls and improvements.
  • Ensure that workflows, processes, and products comply with all safety regulations.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot product or production issues to assist in root cause identification of actual or potential quality nonconformities.
  • Assist in developing and implementing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.

 

QUALIFICATIONS (EXPERIENCE):

  • Candidate will have access to ITAR controlled data, materials and work areas and must meet all requirements of EAR Part 772 and ITAR 120.15 as a U.S. Person.
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work equally well independently and in a team environment.
  • Able to communicate and articulate complex ideas and concepts in a rational/logical manner.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, written and problem solving skills.
  • Must possess high ethical standards and able to maintain confidentiality of all data and files.
  • Highly proficient with all Microsoft Office productivity software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.).
  • Experience with SPC and MiniTab a definite plus.

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university as a rising senior, pursuing a bachelor’s degree program studying Engineering, Business or other closely related field of study.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENT:

  • Potential musculoskeletal stresses from repetitive motion of arms/hands, standing for prolonged periods, performing frequent bending and twisting motions, lifting of light weight objects
  • Steady hands and dexterity to perform tasks repeatedly and accurately
  • Perform tasks that require constant state of alertness.
  • Work performed in laboratory environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials

At times, work will be performed preformed in production areas with potential exposure to large equipment/machinery, extreme temperatures and loud noises in a non-environmentally controlled work environment
