Program Coordinator I- Contact Lens Service

Responsible for coordinating and performing complex and varied administrative tasks requiring independent action and the setting of priorities and procedures; implementing effective operational/administrative policies and procedures specific to the achievement of the objectives of the Contact Lens Service. Confers with staff and others to provide technical advice, provide problem-solving assistance, and answer questions about the Contact Lens Service and its goals; refers inquiries to others as needed; prepares or assists in the preparation of periodic reports/updates on program activities, progress, status or other special reports for management. Interacts with staff, faculty, patients, and outside vendors in facilitating program objectives.

 

The Program Coordinator I will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating activities and daily operations of a program.
  • May be preparing or assisting in the preparation of proposals for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors.
  • Conferring with staff and others to provide technical advice, providing problem-solving assistance, and answering questions about the program and its goals. Referring inquiries to others as needed.
  • May be preparing or assisting in the preparation of periodic reports and records on program activities, progress, status, or other special reports for management or outside agencies.
  • May be reviewing applications or other program documents in conjunction with the supervisor to determine acceptance or making decisions pertaining to the program.
  • May be assisting in the coordination of recruitment efforts.
  • Drafting written communication and promotional literature.
  • May be assisting in planning workshops, meetings, or conferences; coordinating logistics, scheduling, and participant communications.
  • Interacting and maintaining liaison with staff, faculty, and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives.

To qualify you must have:

  • Associate’s Degree is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
  • One year of relevant experience
  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
  • The ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.
