Cyber Security Intern

JOB SUMMARY:
Through the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission’s (MSLC) agile software development practice, we create digital products such as games, loyalty programs, and user experiences that are loved by players. Our team consists of extremely talented product managers, UX/UI designers, software engineers, project managers and quality testers that collaborate closely to achieve our vision. The Digital and Cyber Security departments ensure that players experience a secure, world class digital product. The Cyber Security internship offers entry-level professional experience to Computer Science students.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Investigate and document cyber security incidents in the Mass Lottery computer systems.
  • Document process and procedures that govern the discovery, investigation, and remediation of security incidents.
  • Assist the Cyber team in day to operations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current student of a 2-year or 4-year undergraduate program in Computer Science
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Basic understanding of security principles and practices
  • This is a paid internship during Summer, 2023 (June 5 - August 25, though dates can be flexible based on school schedule)
  • Hourly rate will be $18/hr for college undergraduates or $22/hr for grad students

Please note that the Lottery will not consider family members of current employees as eligible for employment. Family members shall include an employee’s spouse, brother, sister, children, stepchildren, parents, stepparents, sister/brother-in-law, daughter/son-in-law or an individual residing in an employee’s household.

The Massachusetts State Lottery Commission requires staff to have received COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of employment. To be considered fully vaccinated, individuals must have received two doses of the approved Pfizer/Moderna COVID-19 vaccine or single dose of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. Finalists will be given details about how to demonstrate receipt of vaccination.
