2023 Intern - Government Relations Specialist
The Opportunity
The Adobe Policy and Government Intern will work on several projects in the Washington, DC area related to federal government, including Congress, as well as state and select international governments. The successful candidate will have demonstrated interest in government work and public policy at either the federal, state or local level. After working with Adobe’s Policy Team, the individual will have extensive knowledge of how Congress, the legislative process, the inner workings of government policy and administrative actions, and many contacts to help get them started on developing a career that includes government service and involvement, including a network of contacts in public policy and government. Adobe’s Policy and Government Interns are provided with a view of federal, state and international governments that few intern opportunities offer. This internship will be remote and will not be housed in an Adobe Office for the Fall 2022 semester.
What You'll Do
Projects the Policy and Government Intern will be involved in during the summer are based on the global government relations team’s needs at the time but might include:
- Create compelling content around Adobe’s policy and advocacy efforts using Adobe’s tools, especially in sustainability, social justice, workplace, community involvement and other related policy areas.
- Organize and participate in advocacy preparation and policy development meetings.
- Coordinate advocacy meetings and events with government officials.
- Research new areas of policy interest in tech and business.
- Expand internal systems and tools used by Adobe’s global government relations and public policy group to coordinate global advocacy and messaging.
- Attend and report out on industry and policy discussion events and meetings on a variety of topics that are at the intersection of technology and government policy.
- Work as part of a larger team to expand Adobe’s presence in several policy areas important to society.
- Attend policy events, government official speeches, hearings and roundtables on a variety of topics and prepare summaries for use by Adobe’s subject matter experts.
What You Need to Succeed
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Business, Law, Public Relations, Communications, Political Science, or related field.
- Special consideration will be given to candidates who have demonstrated an interest in government by their research, studies, employment or extracurricular activities.
- Desire to learn about government operations, policies and processes.
- A genuine passion for public policy and politics.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills and not afraid to network or get to know new people.
- Computer skills including word processing, researching, database creation, slide preparation, etc.
