Environmental Protection Specialist (Grants Project Officer)

This position is in The Office of Water (OW).

The location will be determined after a selection has been made for this position; if selected, you must work at one of the locations stated in this announcement. Salary will be based on the grade level for which you are selected and the duty location.

About The Office of Water:  OW

At the entry level of this position, you will:

  • Assist in development and implementation of stakeholder/EPA partnerships for environmental protection programs, including negotiation, facilitation, creation, and evaluation of specific agreements.
  • Review grants, cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreement activities related to the initiation, administration, and/or close-out of conventional or less complex grants, cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements (IGAs), including responsibility for monitoring performance.
  • Assist project managers on ad hoc teams, dealing with competing demands and priorities; and prepare written materials for briefing and presentations.
  • Serve as a technical/programmatic specialist in providing information to state, local and/or tribal governments and non-profits to help facilitate assigned environmental protection program development within municipalities/towns/tribes.
