Help to collect and highlight the stories of those most impacted by economic inequality.

Mission & Programs
United for a Fair Economy is a national nonprofit organization and our mission is: “We challenge the concentration of wealth and power that corrupts democracy, deepens the racial divide, and tears communities apart.”

United for a Fair Economy uses popular economics education, trainings, and creative communications to support social movements working for a resilient, sustainable, and equitable economy.

  • UFE’s signature Economics for Everyone programs use popular education methodology to strengthen grassroots power by sharing an interactive and accessible analysis of the economy.
  • Our Inclusive Economy Project brings together grassroots groups in strategic states to push for progressive and equitable public policy.
  • We use creative communications to challenge popularly-held myths about wealth creation and expose the structures of power and policies that maintain extreme economic inequality.
  • Our Responsible Wealth Project organizes wealthy progressives and business owners – those in the top 5% of income and assets in this country – to use their influential voices in the fight for a fair economy.

Communications at UFE
At United for a Fair Economy, we use creative communications to challenge popularly-held myths about wealth creation and expose the structures of power and policies that maintain extreme economic inequality.

We are looking for a remote summer intern for 20-25 hours per week for 8-10 weeks, to assist with the creation of video, audio, and other multimedia content. The intern will gain experience being part of a small and collaborative team, with opportunities to learn and contribute to the full range of projects we have ongoing nationwide. Because UFE is a small organization with a large impact, we offer a unique opportunity for interns to gain experience and insight into many different aspects of communications work, and nonprofit work more broadly.

The intern’s work editing video and audio will support a new project we are working on in North Carolina, which involves collecting and highlighting the stories of those most impacted by economic inequality. The resultant mini-interviews will be optimized for social media audiences, and distributed with the help of social advertising.
