Data Engineering Intern

Position Overview
Spectral MD, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Data Engineering Intern with experience in AI or deep learning, imaging or computer vision algorithms. The Data Engineering Intern will gain exciting real-world data engineering experience at a thriving and rapidly expanding company. This candidate will be responsible for developing new machine learning and deep learning algorithms that will impact future Spectral MD products focusing on medical imaging device data.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities
• Work with a cross-functional technical team composed of frontend developers, software engineers, data scientists, and product designers.
• Design and evaluate developed algorithms, summary research findings in technical documents or papers.
• Perform data cleaning for machine learning and deep learning algorithms.
• Research and develop novel machine learning and deep learning models for medical imaging data analysis, especially in the field of image classification and semantic segmentation.
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree and currently or recently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Coursework on AI/Deep learning, imaging or computer vision algorithms

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good understanding in machine learning and deep learning algorithms
• Excellent programming skills in Python, C#, C/C++, CUDA
• Knowledge of common deep learning frameworks such as Pytorch, Tensorflow, or Keras.
• Knowledge of basic computer vision tasks of image classification, semantic segmentation, and object detection.
• Knowledge of transfer learning, domain adaption and data augmentation
• Knowledge of processing multispectral image data
• Implementation of machine learning and deep learning algorithm in latest research papers
• Good publication record
