Systems Administrator Intern
BAE Systems in Washington DC is seeking a System Administrator Intern to support the Strategic Systems Program (SSP). Primary responsibilities include supporting IT Infrastructure to include supporting the planning and migrating of systems to the public cloud infrastructure as well as general system administrator duties. The ideal candidate must possess strong problem solving skills; a high degree of initiative, and a commitment to exceptional customer service and teamwork.
Duties for the position include the following:
- Support the planning and migration of IT Systems to Public Cloud Infrastructure
- Support moving applications into Docker containers
- Assist in the creation of processes and procedures for IT Operations
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of multiple projects
- Support Model Based System Engineering Tools
- Review IT Systems against Security Technical Implementation Guides and resolve issues
- Administer Windows Server and Linux Servers
- Administer Citrix Infrastructure
- Administer Active Directory
- Provide level-2 IT support
Required Skills and Education
- Completed Sophomore year
- Registered in an accredited 4-year university
- Basic knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a relevant field of specialization
- Ability to work well with cross-functional teams
- Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Personal computer skills
- Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to work independently
- Previous work experience not required but helpful
- Minimum GPA of 2.8
