Description & Requirements 

The Symitar Custom Solutions team is looking for an infinitely curious and creative Software Engineer, Intern-Associate to join their team. 
The Custom Solutions team works with credit unions and vendors to develop solutions that provide more streamlined experiences for both credit union staff and members. The software engineers on this team partner with QA analysts to provide the best possible solution to the client. 

The chosen candidate will join a team of highly motivated, self-managing Associates who work in a collaborative environment. The Custom Solutions team works hard and plays hard, all while encouraging and helping each other. This team knows they are stronger as a collective; they have fostered a team environment that works towards everyone's individual success and encourages creative thinking. No question is off the table! 

Throughout the internship, the Intern-Associate will work on developing MicroApps with the Custom Solutions team and management; while also cross-collaborating with various Symitar teams. 

Previous working experience with HTML, Angular, and Java is needed. This position can be hired in the San Diego, CA area; Allen, TX area; or be a remote hire. 

The internship program begins June 7, 2021 and ends August 13, 2021. Based on successful completion of the 10-week program and business-unit need, continued employment will be offered. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Currently be enrolled at an accredited university or college. 
  • Be a registered junior or senior at time of internship start date.
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Information Sciences, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, or System Analysis. 
  • Have and maintain a cumulative GPA os 3.0 or higher. 
  • Be able to work 40 hours per week throughout the 10-week program with minimum absences.
  • Meet legal requirements to work in the U.S. for an indefinite period of time. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Strong working knowledge of HTML, Angular, and Java. 
  • Basic understanding of the FinTech industry.
  • Microsoft and other modern programming/software engineering related certifications and/or an active desire to pursue such certifications. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Works on projects and tasks that are pertinent to the needs of the business unit by applying knowledge, experience, and/or education. 
  • Works with other team members to learn and assist with projects relevant to the department and pursuit of degree. 
  • Assists the team in their day-to-day functions of servicing our clients or internal customers.
  • Assists with special projects as needed. 
  • Essential functions to be specified at the department level upon hire.
  • Begins with a new employee orientation and concludes 10 weeks later with a final project retrospective.
