Summer College Intern - Renewable Development (Origination)

 
NextEra Energy Resources is one of the largest wholesale generators of electric power and renewable energy from the wind and sun in North America.
 
Position Specific Description
The NextEra Energy Resources Renewable Energy Origination team is looking for an eager intern to join their team for the Summer of 2020. This team is responsible for customer outreach and offering a portfolio of clean and low-cost energy generation that shapes North America's energy future.

In this role, you will work with our team to analyze data, conduct competitor research (win/loss rates, data-driven competitor behavior analysis, subjective competitor conclusions, etc.), and apply current business strategies to help the origination team with strategic decisions.
 
Required Qualifications: High School Graduate/College student working towards a bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Political Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science or related degree.
Preferred Qualifications: Research experience, Analytical Problem Solving, Good Listening Skills, Team Player, Effective Written Communication, Effective Verbal Communications, Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), Python, R.
 
Job Overview
To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).
Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assists department with assigned projects
  • Completes challenging projects and assignments
  • Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship
  • Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • High school grad / GED
  • Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program
  • Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
