Database Intern for Immersive Musical Technology

The immersive musical, The Bad Years, seeks a Database Intern to assist creators, and input data into multi-level database.

About the Company: The Bad Years is the first fully immersive musical, which invites audiences to join an epic house party, using cutting edge technologies to fulfill the technical challenges of the event. While exploring the space, guests choose their own adventure, freely flowing throughout the party, learning more about the massive storyline unfolding before them, reveling in the experiences each room has to offer, and winning some rounds of beer pong along the way. Forty songs are counter-programmed throughout 12+ rooms, following the story-arcs of 10 different characters over 120 minutes.

About the Position: The Bad Years team is searching for highly logical database interns. These individuals will assist the authors to create the show “map”, pinpointing where each character exists in each moment of the show, and eventually creating timecode to sync actors, sound, lighting, and video systems. All training will be provided, but experience in MySQL or complex CRM Systems is preferred. Position will be required for in-person training and a few in-person meetings, but most work can be completed remotely.
Special interest in computer science, math, or science majors.

Time Commitment: We’re looking for candidates to start immediately and work with the show through September 2020. Workflow will vary depending on needs and skillset. Some weeks may have 35 hours of work, others will have no work.
