Investment Systems Summer Internship
Job Summary
Barings’ Global Investment Services group is seeking an Intern to join its Investment Systems team. This internship will be located in the Barings’ Charlotte, NC office. This intern will join a team focused on the development and support of proprietary in-house and 3rd-party applications and data processes. Members of the Investment Systems team work directly with business partners throughout the development lifecycle, beginning with requirements gathering and progressing through post implementation support. Another key responsibility would involve providing onsite support to business. The group’s technology stack consists primarily of .NET, SQL Server, SSRS & SSIS packages.
Primary Responsibilities
The ideal candidate for this position will have a desire to perform analysis on business processes and technical solutions, capacity to learn new systems, ability to contribute as a team member, be proactive and have excellent communication skills. The candidate should also be comfortable working with a range of Microsoft technologies, mainly hands on with complex T-SQL queries & stored procedures, able to troubleshoot and problem-solve quickly with a strong sense of urgency. Educational experience with finance and investment concepts would be a plus. This person should be a self-starter, able to work independently and cooperatively as required.
Qualifications
Experience with at least one of the following (or an equivalent technology):
- Database/query development on Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL)
- Business Intelligence tools, such as SSRS and PowerBI
- Application development within the Microsoft framework, including .NET (Client Server or web), C#, etc. using Visual Studio and VSTS
