Psychiatric Technician Level I

As a Psychiatric Technician at Pine Rest, you'll provide compassionate, hands-on care to individuals experiencing mental illness and developmental disabilities. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you'll help create a safe, therapeutic environment while building meaningful relationships with those you serve.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct care and emotional support to patients
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment
- Participate in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and safety management
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, etc.) as needed
- Lead and support therapeutic groups and daily programming
- Document patient progress, observations, and medication administration
- Monitor patient safety and promptly report concerns to the treatment team
- Teach and encourage social, coping, and daily living skills
- Escort patients to appointments and community outings when appropriate
- Assist with household tasks such as light cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation in residential settings
- Conduct searches and drug testing as required by the program
- Support individualized treatment plans and recovery goals
- Help train and mentor new team members
What We're Looking For
- Six months of post-high school education in behavioral sciences preferred
- CNA certification or one to two years of college preferred
- Passion for behavioral health and helping others
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm in crisis situations
Schedule
- Onsite position
- Weekend and holiday availability may be required
