This role blends relational work with structured accountability — ensuring every scholar feels safe, seen, and supported while maintaining Kairos’ high expectations for conduct and community care. The ideal candidate models our core values of Love, Excellence, Agency, and Diversity through every interaction and serves as a visible culture leader across campus.

Core Responsibilities

Incident Investigation & Documentation

  • Investigate and document 100% of behavioral incidents in alignment with Kairos’ Behavior Matrix.
  • Collect student and staff statements, review evidence, and record all incidents in DeansList and internal tracking systems.
  • Communicate incident outcomes promptly and clearly with relevant staff and leaders.

Reentry & Follow-Up

  • Facilitate restorative reentry meetings for students returning from suspension or extended absence.
  • Collaborate with staff and families to establish and document reentry plans before a student’s return to class.
  • Monitor reentry progress and ensure accountability, empathy, and closure are achieved.

Behavior Tracking & Interventions

  • Track daily behavior data through DeansList to identify trends, celebrate positive patterns, and flag students needing additional support.
  • Partner with the Principal, Director of Culture, and Counselor to coordinate interventions, behavior plans, and student support meetings.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional documentation at all times.

Restorative Practices & Culture Leadership

  • Lead restorative circles, peer mediations, and reflective conversations to promote empathy, repair, and accountability.
  • Support consistent implementation of schoolwide culture systems and restorative frameworks.
  • Model de-escalation strategies and mentor students in managing conflict productively.

Partnership & Presence

  • Maintain a strong, visible presence throughout the school day — during transitions, lunch, arrival, and dismissal — to promote safety, connection, and consistency.
  • Collaborate closely with school leaders, teachers, and the student support team to reinforce expectations and sustain a positive school culture.
  • Support family engagement and communicate regularly with caregivers regarding student progress or needs.

Ideal Candidate Profile

You are:

  • Passionate about working with middle school students and helping them grow through both structure and care.
  • Grounded in restorative justice, relationship-centered discipline, and equity-based practices.
  • Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented in documentation and follow-up.
  • Reflective, coachable, and eager to strengthen systems with your team.
  • A believer in high expectations, second chances, and continuous growth.

  • Eligible to work for any employer in the U.S. and able to pass background checks.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
  • Experience using DeansList or similar behavioral tracking systems.
  • Background in trauma-informed care, youth mentorship, or behavioral intervention.
