Social, Communication and Marketing Intern for AI - Spring 2026 Internship
If you’re looking for an internship where you wait for the exact direction on the next task — this role is not for you.
Founded by a team of former big tech innovators, Onki is an AI startup dedicated to creating the most human-centric AI, designed to understand, react to, and support the complex spectrum of human needs and emotions in public spaces.
This unpaid role is designed to make you unusually strong at modern, high-standard communications in the age of AI.
What you’ll do
Understand the audience and context
Study our target audiences (retailers, retail media, brand marketers and investors) and turn those insights into a focused content strategy.
Design and run a content engine
Propose subjects and draft high-bar LinkedIn posts for the founder account and the company page (hooks, angles, formats, cadence).
Use AI as leverage, not a shortcut
Build workflows where AI helps with research, ideation, drafting, and editing—then you apply your own taste and judgment to produce content that meet our high standard.
Ship core marketing assets
Create website/landing copy, one-pagers, event recaps/follow-ups, and visuals (social graphics, diagrams, banners).
Guided by Data and Performance Metrics
Define simple metrics (impressions, engagement, profile visits, DMs), track them in a lightweight dashboard, and run small experiments (timing, hooks, formats) to learn what actually works.
What you’ll gain
- Direct exposure and feedback from founders — Learn how big tech and top consulting thinks and operates; Get specific feedback on audience, narrative, metrics and trade-offs, not just edits.
- A portfolio of shipped work: founder + company LinkedIn posts with real performance data, plus web and marketing assets you can be proud of.
- A reusable AI-assisted content workflow you can take anywhere: how to go from rough idea to publish-ready output quickly without dropping the bar.
- A data-driven mindset for communications: how to read content performance like an operator (not an influencer), and use numbers to refine message, channel, and format.
- A high-signal reference if you meet the standard, and visibility into how early-stage companies actually make strategic and communication decisions.
Traits that make you successful here
- Driven and proactive: you don’t wait for assignments; you propose them and move.
- Systematic improvement: willing to test ideas, anticipate consequence, prepared mitigation strategy, and iterate to achieve better results.
- Strategic: you think in terms of audience, narrative, and outcomes—not “more content.”
- Evidence-minded and comfortable with numbers: you like looking at performance tables and using them to change what you do next.
- AI optimist with a very high standard: you like AI, but your standards are that of NYT and New Yorker. Know how to leverage AI to achieve the quality fast.
Candidate profile
- Strong, concise writer with a feel for voice and pacing.
- Power user of AI tools for content (research →research →research → draft→ draft → refine→ refine→ refine→ refine→ refine→ refine→ refine→ refine→ publish), with real discipline on accuracy and editing.
- Comfortable working across formats: social posts, web copy, and visual assets.
- Spreadsheet skills for tracking results.
- Interested in AI, retail, or product storytelling, and motivated to work closely with founders rather than sit on the sidelines.
