Job Opening: Personal Care Assistant for a Physically Disabled Adult Male

Location: [Primarily Detroit, MI 48202, and occasionally the broader community]
Schedule: [Full-time / Part-time / Weekends]
Pay: [Hourly compensation is $22.77. A maximum of 40 hours per week]

Approximate Start Date: January 9th 2026

About the Role

This position is for a Personal Care Assistant to support a physically disabled adult male with his daily living needs and activities as well as educational, career, and other aspirations. This position is open for all shifts, all seven days of the week, up to a maximum of 40 hours a week.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal hygiene (bathing, grooming, dressing)
• Support with mobility and transfers (Hoyer Lift used for transfers)
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding
• Light housekeeping and laundry
• Accompany to appointments, errands, and social outings
• Provide companionship
• Operating wheelchair accessible van and power van lift.
• Fastening and securing wheelchair via tie down system straps in the vehicle.

Qualifications

• Strong communication & organization skills
• Must pass background check
• Valid driver’s license & motor vehicle insurance
• Must be at least eighteen years of age
