Job Opening: Audio-Video Specialist (Event Production)

Sparknify produces high-quality technology and startup events across the San Francisco Bay Area, bringing together founders, investors, creators, and innovators. Our live events rely on strong technical execution, and we’re looking for an entry-level Audio-Video Specialist to support our event production team.

This is a hands-on, event-based role ideal for college students or recent graduates interested in live events, media production, technical operations, or stage production. You’ll gain real-world experience working behind the scenes at professional tech events.

Role Overview

As an Audio-Video Specialist, you will assist with the setup, operation, and takedown of audio, video, lighting, and stage equipment. You’ll work closely with the production team to ensure events run smoothly from a technical and logistical standpoint.

Responsibilities

Assist with setup and breakdown of audio, video, lighting, and stage equipment

Run and secure audio and video cables and power cords

Help position and adjust stage lighting and equipment

Support stage setup, including risers, backdrops, and basic staging elements

Assist with basic AV operations during live events as needed

Ensure equipment is placed safely and neatly according to production plans

Maintain a clean and organized production area before, during, and after events

Provide general technical and logistical support to the event production team

Ideal Candidate

College student or recent graduate

Interested in live events, AV, media production, or technical operations

Hands-on, reliable, and detail-oriented

Comfortable working in fast-paced event environments

Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team

Willing to learn new equipment and workflows

Previous AV or event experience is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided.

Requirements

Based in the San Francisco Bay Area

Available for evening and weekend events

Able to stand for extended periods and lift/move event equipment

Reliable transportation

Professional and punctual
