Full Job Description
Joseph G. Canepa is a sole practitioner for more than 20 years. He has extensive experience in general practice law including immigration law.
POSITION OVERVIEW
A position at the Law Office of Joseph G. Canepa provides individuals with the unique opportunity to assist the lawyer in all his general practice. We are looking for someone to join our team of professional legal advocates part-time (2 pm-9 pm)
Receive, direct and relay telephone and fax messages
Open and date stamp all general correspondence
Maintain the general filing system and file all correspondence
Provide word-processing and secretarial support
Handle closed cases including filing, scanning, and shredding
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Clerical Duties
Develop and maintain a current and accurate case filing system
Faxing, scanning, and copying documents
Drafting internal memos, letters & legal documentation.
Taking notes or minutes at meetings
Compiling client lists
Receptionist Functions
Schedule and calendar appointments
Answer & screen all incoming calls and handle caller’s inquiries whenever possible
Re-direct calls as appropriate and take adequate messages when required
Greet, assist, and/or direct students, visitors, and the general public
Keep the reception area neat and tidy
Qualifications:
Self-starter; able to work well without constant direction, Strong computer skills, fluent in English and Spanish, Excellent time management skills, organized and attentive to detail. Excellent customer service skills. Strong intercultural communication skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from other cultural backgrounds, Team player, ability to work in groups, or independently and help with the decision-making process, Reliable, punctual and professional, Solid MS Word, Excel, spelling, grammar, and typing skills, Can handle a high-pressure environment.
Work Authorization and Spanish speaking are a must.
