Job Description
The Sustainability Student Worker will support the Sustainability Manager in developing and implementing programs that promote environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic viability. This role involves assisting with data collection, project management, and communication efforts to advance our sustainability goals. The ideal candidate is a proactive and detail-oriented student with a strong interest in sustainability and a desire to make a tangible impact on campus and within our operations.
Job Responsibilities

Project and Program Support: Assist the Sustainability Manager with the coordination of ongoing sustainability projects. This may include researching best practices, organizing events, and tracking progress toward key performance indicators. -
Data Collection and Analysis: Help collect and analyze data related to energy usage, waste management, water consumption, and other sustainability metrics. -
Communication and Outreach: Contribute to creating educational materials, presentations, and social media content to raise awareness about sustainability initiatives. -
Administrative Tasks: Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining project documentation.

Qualifications
- Must be a currently enrolled student at the University of Virginia.
- Strong interest in sustainability, environmental science, or related fields.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Workspace.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience or coursework related to sustainability is a plus.
