Talent Acquisition Specialist

Status: Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt | Pay: $23.00/Hour | Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Candidate Sourcing

  • Update and post job descriptions on various job boards and platforms to attract qualified candidates
  • Maintain updated candidate applicant information on tracking systems and maintain accurate and up-to-date records
  • Conduct phone screenings to assess candidates’ qualifications, experience, and cultural fit
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers
  • Conduct reference and background checks and ensure compliance with relevant employment legislation and regulations
  • Participate in recruitment marketing initiatives to enhance the organization’s reputation as an employer of choice
  • Attend job fairs quarterly

Team Support

  • Present company policies, procedures, and culture during new hire orientation sessions
  • Assist in extending job offers and the onboarding process
  • Updating new hire documents as necessary

Miscellaneous

  • Attend staff meetings and quarterly trainings
  • Enhance job performance by applying up-to-date professional and technical knowledge gained by attending seminars and conferences and reviewing professional publications
  • Take initiative; demonstrate strong decision-making and organizational skills
  • Initiate best practices; develop efficiency improvements
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned by your supervisor

Requirements: 

Education and Experience

  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems and other HR-related software preferred

General

  • Reliable transportation required
  • A flexible work schedule including some schedule changes, some weekends, and evening shifts to meet the department’s needs
  • Detail-oriented and computer proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel required
  • Knowledge of recruitment best practices, including sourcing strategies, candidate selection, and employment legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Physical Requirements

•     Answer and respond to phone queries

•     Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

•     Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
