Job Summary: We are seeking an enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer to support our Sales department and join our dynamic team at GEMCO. In this client-facing role, you will help drive customer satisfaction by understanding client needs, providing technical expertise, and delivering tailored solutions that highlight GEMCO’s product value. This position plays a vital role in building relationships and supporting our mission to deliver innovation, high-quality industrial solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate directly with clients to understand their needs and effectively explain GEMCO’s product offerings and value.
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments to gather and clarify technical specifications.
- Utilize company systems such as CRM, ERP, and proposal generators to manage information efficiently.
- Keep accurate records of inventory, client interactions, and account documentation.
- Research older CAD files for dimensions, replacement parts, and retrofits as needed.
- Participate actively in group meetings, brainstorming solutions and contributing ideas.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to collect, analyze, and interpret large amounts of technical information.
- Excellent problem-solving and adaptability skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong active listening and detailed note-taking abilities.
- Ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external clients.
- Solid understanding of consumer behaviors and industry trends.
- In-depth product knowledge or ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge practically.
- Some experience with electrical systems is preferred, particularly an understanding of control boxes and their functions.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must reside within the New Jersey area or within commuting distance.
