About HARD CANDIE:
Founded by Carmen Rodgers (Recording Artist/Songwriter, The Foreign Exchange) and Jermaine Hardsoul (Artist/Writer/Producer for Eric Roberson, Musiq Soulchild, Carl Thomas), HARD CANDIE is a boutique agency dedicated to helping independent artists monetize their music beyond the stage. We specialize in connecting artists’ music with content creators in TV, film, advertising, gaming, and social media.
The Role:
We’re seeking a passionate, self-motivated intern to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who loves music and how it fits in visual storytelling, and wants to gain hands-on experience in the business side of the industry, while also exploring how technology and creative strategy can elevate artists’ work.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with administrative tasks to support agency operations.
- Help shape and maintain HARD CANDIE’s branding and online presence.
Create and schedule engaging social media content (posts, stories, reels) to:- Promote HARD CANDIE’s work and successes.
- Share relevant industry news and insights.
- Spotlight songs, film scenes, and artists inside and outside the HARD CANDIE catalog.
- Research publishing rights holders and splits for Hard Candie catalog works.
- Conduct outreach to artists and content creators.
- Organize and manage our growing music catalog.
- Support project planning and execution.
- Explore, learn, and apply AI-powered tools to improve workflow, research, catalog management, and/or content creation.
What We’re Looking For:
- Passion for music, appreciation of TV & Film, and a desire to support independent artists.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfort with creating content across major social platforms (Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, Facebook).
- Actively utilizes AI tools currently with willingness to learn how to use them in creative and business settings.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and receptive to feedback.
- Familiarity with Performing Rights Organizations (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC) is a big plus.
Details:
This is an unpaid, remote internship working 2-4 days during Mon – Fri, totaling 10-12 hrs per week. You will collaborate directly with the founders on creative and business administration for our TV, Film, and Media projects. A small stipend will be awarded at the completion of the 3-month period.
